Haha! Our news were full of stuff about the auction of the remaining scream, which made record price of course. (119.9 mill dollar - Not because it's so amazingly painted, but because it's "scream".) I like your version better. :)

:) really? I like the damn painting, it had a great impact on me once,
but it sucks that its so popular & commercially exploited...
did I do good on the norwegian title?

"madonna" is my personal favourite, but I like the powerful expression of scream also, I admit. It's the same for me, with the incredible hype created around it, pulling the focus away from the actual artwork. (Several other Munch paintings, just as good or better than scream, were sold at the auction for "normal" prices) (It's the same thing with DaVincis Mona Lisa. Not really all that impressive, but with its turbulent history, and all the attention it received after the "assassination attempt", many would think of this as one of the "best" paintings in the world.

Katt and skrik's fine, but I did wonder about the "I"? If the title was to be "cat-scream", it could be translated to "katte-skrik". :)

yes, 'madonna' is a perfect piece, and besides breeding a heavy atmosphere, also very beautiful.
It was the scream however that made me buy a Munch book looong time ago..

I got the title from a tiny norse dictionary, I wanted to say 'the cat who screams' , don't know how the 'I' got in.
anyway, 'cat-scream' is way better, so I changed it, Thanks!! :)

Directly translated, that'll be "Katten som skriker". "Den skrikende katt", is another possible option. (The screaming cat):)

oh, thanks! I change it again, Katten som skriker sounds real good!
it might seem stupid, but for me everything norse sounds very black metal haha

Haha! Paradoxically, most norwegian BM bands have english vocals. :) But you're right. I wonder if I haven't seen this title before, on an early album of Emperor?

"Med KATTEN som SKRIKER
i NATTEN et STED,
SØVNEN den VIKER,
jeg FÅR ingen FRED.

HELVETES KATT!
KATTEN SOM SKRIKER!
HELVETES NATT!
MED en skrikende KATT!"

Or something like that. Don't remember the second verse. :D
